I have a mild obsession with Hostinger, and I’m not afraid to admit it.

Before I get into the details here, I want to give you a little preface. When I say that I’m kind of obsessed with Hostinger hosting, I want you to know that’s coming from someone who has worked with every major hosting company out there, along with a whole variety of smaller companies. Everyone from GoDaddy and Bluehost and HostGator, to local options, who host on their own on-site servers outside of devoted data-centres. And in working with all of those options, I’ve seen the pit-falls, the hiccups, the downtime, the price increases – I’ve also seen the things those companies (big and small) do particularly well.

And since starting to work with Hostinger, I’ve also worked with a variety of other hosting companies simultaneously, because although I totally recommend my clients moving their server spaces to Hostinger, I don’t require it. I will absolutely work with hosting you already have secured, especially if you have a good reason to stay.

It’s also important that you know (while I do have an affiliate relationship with Hostinger!) I only recommend companies I 100%, fully believe in, and trust completely. Because let’s be honest here, it straight up wouldn’t be good for business if I was recommending sub-par services to my clients, right? That’s a lose-lose, and I’m much more of a win-win kind of person.

And win-win? That’s basically Hostinger’s specialty, as far as I’m concerned!

Why is Hostinger the BEST option for your WordPress site?

Those win-wins are why Hostinger is the perfect host for your WordPress site. Except it’s more like win-win-win-win, because even the theoretical “cons” of choosing Hostinger are actually “pros” if you peel back a layer of the onion. And we’re going to talk about one of them below, to break things down!

In working with so many hosting companies, it’s become pretty clear to me that the experience you’ll have with ANY hosting, especially if you’re in the DIY realm and building websites isn’t exactly your bread and butter, is going to boil down to four areas. Cost, customer support, reliability/communication, and the actual back-end setup you’re going to have to work with to maintain your website. And in all of these areas, Hostinger just… frankly they’re kind of badass.

1 – Hostinger is the best value for money on the market

I want to be very clear that I’m not saying Hostinger is the cheapest service to host your WordPress site – there might be less expensive ones! And there could very well be hosts that will charge less for your first year, at the minimum. But those hosts are NOT giving you the value that you get for your money as someone DIYing a website, and if they are… please show me, I love being proven wrong.

Hostinger’s prices aren’t just affordable, they’re transparent – and that’s one of the things I love about them. It’s standard practice for hosting companies to give you a lower cost for your first year, and then increase things from there. Pretty much every hosting company does it. But not every hosting company makes it obvious what those prices will be, when it comes to renewal time, from the start. When you get hosting with Hostinger, you know exactly what you’ll be paying. And not only that, but there aren’t weird extra fees for things that should ABSOLUTELY be free, and that other hosting companies tack onto your purchase (like domain privacy, or SSL certificates).

But the value of what you’re paying for doesn’t stop there, because really the other three areas we’re about to talk about loop back to the “value” topic as well. Because, oh boy, do they add value!!

2 – The Customer Support from Hostinger is TOP TIER

Customer service is KEY

We can’t talk about hosting (or about Hostinger!) without touching on customer service. Now, even if you’re a web designer (or a web designer who dabbles in the development side too) by trade, there will be moments that you need customer support. But it’s ESPECIALLY helpful if you’re in the DIY realm, and all of this feels a bit out of your depth to begin with. And when it comes to customer support, Hostinger gives a top-notch performance, every time.

I’ve had to reach out to them about some super weird problems throughout the years, and I’ve never brought them an issue they couldn’t either straight up solve, instruct me to solve, or help me troubleshoot through to get to a resolution. Now, it’s important to note that Hostinger doesn’t offer phone support. And when I started working with them all the way back in 2020, I thought that was going to be a HUGE problem for me. In the years leading up to my switch, I’d spent hours and hours on the phone to GoDaddy – mostly, to deal with problems that occurred at the GoDaddy end of things, but that’s not the point. There was a number I could call, and that felt like security.

Chat only support??

But when I tell you that Hostinger blew my expectations of “chat only support” out of the water, I absolutely mean it. This is one of those “cons” that’s actually a “pro” that I was talking about. Firstly, not having phone services is one of the things that helps Hostinger keep costs lower – but it also means that they can maintain a team of support staff who are well-versed in the ins and outs of common issues, and less common ones too – without bouncing you around being transferred on the phone for hours, and with FAR, FAR less of a wait. I might be lucky, but the longest I’ve waited for a chat with a Hostinger representative is about fifteen minutes. I was once on hold before getting through to a GoDaddy support team member for two and a half hours. That was NOT a good day. For anyone.

The other thing you’ll notice about Hostinger support staff, when you make the switch, is they’re INCREDIBLY kind and understanding. I once reached out because I thought something was broken but really I’d just been staring at it for 8 hours straight, and had gone blind to the steps I needed to take. We had a good laugh about it, and solved the problem – all without saying anything that made me feel dumb for asking such an admittedly ridiculous question, as a professional in this field. (Don’t judge me, sometimes websites do weird things, okay??)

I trust hostinger completely.

My point here, is that whether you’re a novice or an expert, you’re going to need customer support eventually, and you’re going to be SO much better off if you choose a company to work with that is going to treat you with kindness, care, and a genuine interest in solving your problem. And I can personally vouch that Hostinger is ABSOLUTELY that company. I could write a whole post about why their customer support alone is enough of a reason to work with them.

3 – Your Hostinger website will be incredibly reliable

But customer support isn’t the only place Hostinger shines. In the over five years I’ve now been hosted with Hostinger, I’ve had downtime a total of twice. Once, when server maintenance meant there were a few hours of downtime while some tasks were done at their end, and once when there was a genuine error.

Firstly, I’d like to point out that’s a phenomenal track record. But second, the most important part of all of this, is in BOTH situations, I received emails notifying me about what was going on – for the planned maintenance downtime, it was about two weeks ahead so that I could plan, and for the unplanned instance, it was as soon as it was reasonable to send out an email letting me know my server space had been impacted by the situation at hand. And let me tell you, those emails? They mean the WORLD to me. Communication is HIGH on the list of things I care about when I’m working with a company to support my business (or my clients’ businesses!) and knowing when scheduled maintenance is happening is a huge tick in the “pro” column for me.

Communication means the world

In the past, I’d worked with hosting companies that didn’t send out similar announcements, meaning planned maintenance downtime was a surprise when it happened. And not only did it happen more often, when it did, I hadn’t planned ahead for it… because I couldn’t. Or I could in theory, but I would’ve needed to intentionally watch their account’s tweets, or regularly check their status page to see announcements about scheduled maintenance that may or not actually impact me and/or my clients specifically, and respectfully: fuck that sideways on a Sunday. I barely have time to check my own email, I’m not monitoring a twitter account to see when planned maintenance is happening.

Every hosting company is going to have downtime, some of which is going to be from human error, or other tech issues upstream. But it’s the frequency and handling of those situations that matters to me. And with Hostinger, they are infrequent, and handled beautifully. I couldn’t ask for more!

4 – Setting up WordPress on Hostinger is literally a few clicks

If you’re of the DIY persuasion, perhaps you’ve skipped down to this one. Honestly, I might if I were you. Because when you’re setting up a WordPress site for yourself, the barrier to entry can be HUGE, depending on what hosting company you work with. Now there are some hosts that work around this, by offering limited versions of their hosting, that are preloaded with WordPress and don’t have all of the bits and bobs at the back end (cPanel or equivalent, for example) even accessible to you as a hosting client.

At first glance, that might sound great. But trust me… it’s NOT. Artificially limiting access to tools because you’ve selected WordPress hosting causes big ole problems, that you’re going to have to deal with eventually – especially if your website (or your traffic) grows over time. When your site is growing it’s super important to be able to access metrics, resource usage, and more – to make sure you don’t genuinely need to increase your available resources. Not to mention, these plans (sometimes called things like “Managed WordPress”) usually come at a higher cost… for fewer features. With Hostinger, not only are these plans pretty close to the same cost (depending on what sale is on at what time), they also come with all of the same measurement tools that their business hosting packages come with – and MORE.

And setup is incredibly easy, to the point that right after your purchase, you can install and provision WordPress while you’re onboarding – or transfer your WordPress site from another host JUST as simply. I don’t call things “magic” if they aren’t, so please take this with the gravity I intend: working with Hostinger is MAGIC. Truly.

Starting with Hostinger is as easy as working with them long term is – and all you’ve got to do, is head over to Hostinger’s site, and pick a package that works for you. I highly recommend the “Business” plan, but if “Managed WordPress” sounds like it’s more your vibe, go for it!

But what I want to underscore, is there’s no other host that I recommend to clients in 2025, and it’s unlikely I’ll be adding to that list in 2026. Hostinger is just… too good. I’m a full convert – and you should be too!
