10 Canva Pro Font Pairings I Love

The fonts on Canva Pro (and Canva Free!) change all the time – they’re adding things, removing things, etc, on a regular basis. But that doesn’t make it any less important to know how to pair fonts well within Canva Pro, and to keep up with what’s available now!

Canva Pro has a TON of amazing fonts!

There are TONS of fonts available on Canva that you can pair together for all kinds of vibes – but today, we’re going to look at some of my favorite ELEGANT font pairings for Canva pro. None of the fonts you see below are included in Canva free accounts, to be 100% clear – you DO need a pro account to use these.

Let me know if you’d like a version of this for free fonts, or for any particular brand vibe you’re going for!

Pairing up Fonts in General:

Pairing fonts is all about balance – like many things in the branding and design space. Especially if you want things to feel elegant, when you’re using those fonts. You can’t have too much going on, or too little going on – you’ve got to toe the line between effective contrast, balancing stroke weight, and pairing script fonts with serifs and sans serifs. This listing is particularly focused on pairings that involve a script font, because honestly… I like them. And there are SO many on Canva Pro that are just gorgeous in context.

When it comes to the pairings below, I’ve also included a sample name (Samantha Crosswood) so you can take a look at what the fonts look like when you’re creating a simple wordmark with them for a personal brand!

TAN Angleton + Snell Roundhand – Canva Pro Font Pairing

I just LOVE these two fonts together, because of the simplicity of the pairing, but the elegance they bring to projects. One of my favourite parts of the pairing is the way that these fonts mirror eachother’s contrast, even with one being a script and the other being a serif. They’re both just gorgeous, and they work especially well when you’re creating for a neutral or minimal brand, where you’re aiming for elegance in the typography.

La Luxes Script + La Luxes Serif – Canva Pro Font Pairing

You might feel like these two fonts are a cop-out to add to the list, because they’re technically versions of eachother, MADE specifically to work together. But I’m including them, because with the format of each font… they’re both TECHNICALLY scripts, and that breaks some rules! Normally, I wouldn’t pair two scripts together, because they have a lot going on. But the balance between these two, since they were created to work together from the beginning… it’s just gorgeous! This is also a font pairing that works well for WITCHY content, if that’s the vibe you’re going for!

Didot LP Display + Citadel Script – Canva Pro Font Pairing

Okay so we’re going back to classic pairings after that script on script action in the last option. This one, Didot + Citadel, is classic, timeless, and honestly? It’s trendy right now but if you use this in your branding it’s never going to go out of style. The structured flow of Citadel pairs so well with the geometric serifs in Didot work together to create a soft elegance that still stands on its own two feet.

Mozer + Humble Hearts – Canva Pro Font Pairing

Less traditional than the previous pairing, is Mozer and Humble Hearts! I say it’s less traditional, because it’s elegant, but… still with a bit more fun than we expect in elegant font pairings. That fun comes in through the round movement of Humble Heart, and honestly? This font can be paired with a TON of the serif and sans serif fonts on this page if you’re looking for elegance, with an edge of joy!

Walbaum + The Something Script – Canva Pro Font Pairing

I love The Something Script, not because it’s a script, but because it’s a script with a balance between chaos and structure! I’m all for scripts that are all over the place, but it’s got to be readable if you’re going to use it in branding or graphics for a business. But The Something Script ticks both of those boxes – chaotic, flowing, but also readable in 99% of cases! And paired with a structured serif like Walbaum, it brings something magical to the table.

Lucy Rose + Zoxi – Canva Pro Font Pairing

Zoxi is light, flowing, and subtle. Lucy Rose is strong, but with movement and grace. These two work together to create a tone of intrigue – but also with the kind of elegance I love bringing to font pairings like this!

Troye Serif + HK Sentiments – Canva Pro Font Pairing

We’ve finally arrived at a listing without a script font – this one is a serif with a sans serif! Which is ALSO a totally reasonable approach to elegant font pairings. I love putting Troye Serif, with all its bold ligatures, with a sans serif that has some consistency.

Sinclaire + Evolve Sans – Canva Pro Font Pairing

And not only are we including some serifs with sans serifs… this pairing is a sans and a sans! Usually, when I pair two sans serifs together, I’m going for contrast – but this time, I was just going for complimentary tones! And Sinclaire and Evolve Sans definitely have complimentary tones. The pairing is not only elegant, but it’s subtle.

Olivare Base + Dotcom – Canva Pro Font Pairing

Big jump here, from the subtlest possible pairing above, to a super bold pairing here between Olivare Base and Dotcom! Olivare Base is HEFTY, and when it’s paired with a relatively thin sans serif, it creates bold hierarchy that draws the eye!

Filena + Cochin – Canva Pro Font Pairing

And finally, we have Filena and Cochin – a pairing I’m kind of obsessed with. This one works amazingly whether you’re using Filena or Cochin as the heading font, whether you’re adding spacing between the characters, honestly, every structure you can imagine between these two will work amazingly!
